Role Summary/Purpose: The Brilliant Factory Robotics and Automation Engineer will be a key part of a growing team to incorporate Brilliant Factory technologies into the GE Power Supply Chain as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Works (AMW) organization. At the core of the advanced manufacturing idea is the ability to digitally link together design, product engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, and re:manufacturing (or servicing) into one cohesive, intelligent system-a Brilliant Factory.
Essential Responsibilities: The Advanced Manufacturing Works (AMW) organization will support Renewable Energy, Gas Power, Distributed Power, Nuclear and the Water businesses. In this role you, will be responsible for incorporating Brilliant Factory technologies in a variety of manufacturing settings to improve productivity and enable successful projects across all factories.
As the Brilliant Factory Robotics and Automation Engineer, you will:
:Execute Brilliant Factory vision by incorporating the latest in robotics and automation into new and existing factories
:Advise and advance the use of Robotics and Automation throughout the Power plants with focus on Factory Optimization
:Lead projects to institute the use of Robotics and Automation by employing expert knowledge of PLC's, sensing (including vision), and end effector design with strong consideration of system integration
:Investigate new technologies for manufacturing and recommend applicable new technologies to business leaders
:Work with design team to ensure Design for Manufacturing and Assembly is considered within the product designs
:Comply with EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) and ergonomic requirements
:Utilize Human Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to ensure that all equipment / processes are implemented with the health and safety of the operators in mind
:Develop mockups and prototypes to validate NPI (New Product Introduction) designs and test designs within shop floor for confirmation
:Participate and lead teams to determine automation and robotics needs to improve productivity improvements in diverse shop environments
