Description
Entry level position in the materials handling of finished surfactant products and inbound raw materials. This position assists higher:level material handlers in all phases of daily logistics operations while working to acquire additional skills and performs less complex duties on their own.
The hours of work will be11:30 PM to 7:30 AM.
Common examples of daily job tasks are the following: receipt and unloading of raw materials,loading product trucks, drumming, operating a fork lift to transfer and stage material and perform housekeeping items. Works without constant supervision after a job task is mastered and proven. Judgment is exercised in the initial planning of own work. The Material Handler initiates follow:up activities to assure smooth operation.
Under the supervision of Logistics Team Leader and the Sr. Materials Handlers the Materials Handler C performs operations of the Site Logistics Department at White Stone.
1. Operates valves, manipulates switches, etc., to complete the following:
: Unload raw materials to bulk storage tanks;
: Load finished product to tank trucks or railcars
: Drum finished product from storage tanks to required packaging
: Wash and/or otherwise clean equipment lines, valves, pumps, etc., to avoid product contamination.
2. Operates forklift truck and other equipment as required, which include tractor:trailers.
3. Performs minor maintenance.
4. Notifies shift supervisor or team leader of any unusual situation that may require attention.
5. Keeps assigned equipment and work area clean and orderly. Completes a daily housekeeping area.
6. Practices safety at all times. Follows BASF's safety rules and promotes their observance in the performance of job duties. Follows BASF Corporations site and corporate policies.
7. Conducts visual inspection of all equipment to determine status before operating.
8. Performs other work as required and/or assigned.
9. Perform simple analytical or quality control testing.

Qualifications : BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
A High School education, or equivalent is the minimum requirement, with prior experience in warehousing or bulk material handling required.
