Senior Systems Engineering Manager
This is an opportunity to join one of the most popular ecommerce firms in the US supporting their IT Operations and Systems Engineering groups. You will have direct, front line management of the IT infrastructure across multiple plants in North America. This includes Servers (physical and virtual), Storage, Backups, Desktop Hardware, Operating Systems, LAN, WAN, databases, Telecomm, etc etc.
You will direct all IT departments activities in a 24/7 environment. You will have a team of site managers as well as systems engineers and admin staff.
We are looking for a candidate who has ideally worked IT operations in a manufacturing environment.
You should have great experience in:
Linux, Windows, Mac
Storage design, performance tuning, security, monitoring, metrics, etc.
Large, highly scalable and distributed systems and architectures
Leading engineers through application and infrastructure projects
Hands-on programming in at least one scripting or programming language (perl, python, shell, php, ruby, etc.)
Full stack application architecture
Systems and Storage, configuration management, deployment of systems, etc.
Driving change
This is an extremely visible role working across multiple teams, as such we need excellent communication skills, a true thinking and tinkerer, and someone who truly loves what they do.
